PrIdaho has been held since 2001 when people from all around the region celebrated diversity in Pocatello, Idaho. This year there were stand-up comedians, singers, game shows, drag performances, and vendors from the region. Also, PFLAG and Project Filter, an Idaho anti-tobacco campaign set up booths at the park.
I traveled to the Pride Celebration with Charlie for his survey on LGBT youth. He was collecting data for his master’s thesis at Washington State University which focuses on the use of mental health services for LGBT individuals, ages 18 to 25. The survey, which takes approximately 20 minutes to complete, has been passed by the WSU Internal Review Board. Participants will be paid $5 after completing the survey, so if you are interested please contact Charlie Anderson in the Department of Human Development (see below.)
